Life is a journey...
Dr. Martha Shaw
I am an architectural lighting designer and fiction writer. I grew up in Gothenburg, Sweden but I now live in Greenwich. I'm currently working on the e-publication of a romantic short-story and a poetry novel. Publication is planned for 2016.
I started writing poetry as a teenager and this has continued along with short-stories, plays and novels. I have completed university courses in poetry writing, creative writing, literature and American minority literature. My own writing often focuses on finding one's own path in life and being comfortable in your own skin.
I am a member of the Swedish self-publishing organization Egenutgivarna, as well as being a supporter of Global Fusion Music and Arts.
At the start of a new life, after a move abroad, a young woman’s accidental meeting with a man in a gallery sends her on an emotional journey where love is sudden, maddening and quickly spiralling out of control. The story centres round the intensity of passion when it takes you by surprise and how those emotions can take control of you.

The first rays of the sun creep around the rooftops across the street. Muffled sounds of the still sleeping city trickle through the window. It’s difficult to imagine that early mornings haven’t always been like this – warm, intimate and restful. Only two years ago I would have been lying in bed alone – restless and scared as I wondered what life had in store. I was a foreigner in an unknown place, living with strangers. As the hazy morning light sieves through the curtains like watered down milk, it invites me to reveal secrets never before told. So let me tell you a story while we wait for the day to begin.
